Magic Design — your own pictures, arranged into a piece

For anyone with photos, a logo or product shots already in hand who wants them made into something.

Open Magic Design
Step by step
  1. 1
    Add the things you own

Drop in up to ten pictures — photos, your logo, product shots, a headshot. We read each one and say what we think it is, so you can correct us: a logo used as a background and a background used as a logo are different pieces. Anything we cannot place is marked “tell us what this is”.

  2. 2
    Say what it should say

The words that go on the piece, spelled exactly as you write them. Describe what you want first — the way you would to a designer — then the exact lines. There is a microphone if talking is easier.

  3. 3
Pick the shape and where it is going

Tall, wide or square. Then “Where is it going?” — on a screen or on paper. That is not a detail: paper gets full print quality and costs more, screens are quicker and cheaper because they genuinely cost us less to make. Both prices are on the buttons.

  4. 4
Look at three directions — free

We draw three different takes on your piece. Nothing is charged for these and nothing is charged if you walk away. They are lower resolution on purpose: they exist so you can choose a direction, not so you can use them.

  5. 5
    Make the one you like

Press “Make it” on the direction you want and we redraw that one properly, at full quality, following the composition you chose. The price on the button is the one you picked at the shape step. It saves to your Library.

Tips
  • Everything you upload has to be yours to use — your own work, or something you bought within its license. The tick box is there every time for that reason.
  • The previews are free and always will be. You are only charged when you choose one and press Make it.
  • Ten pictures is the ceiling, and there is a size limit on the whole upload. If you hit it, use smaller copies — a phone photo is far larger than the piece needs.
  • The shape decides the price. A screen piece is cheaper than a print one because it costs us less to make; the button always shows which you are about to pay.
  • What you write goes on the design exactly as you typed it, including any typo. Read it back before you press.
If something goes wrong

The messages the page can show, and what to do.

Those pictures add up to more than we can send at once.
The upload is over the size limit. Remove one, or use smaller versions — a full-size phone photo is much bigger than the design needs.
Could not read those files — try again.
Reading what your pictures are hit a snag. The files are still there; press the button again. Nothing was charged.
Tell us what this is
Not an error. We could not tell what one of your pictures was for, so it is waiting for you to say — a logo, a background, a product shot — because guessing wrong changes the whole piece.
Could not reach the maker — try again.
Your connection dropped for a moment. Check you’re online and press the button again. A job that fails is never charged.
You’re out of credits. Add some to keep going.
Your balance can’t cover this piece. Add credits on the Account page — your work carries on from where you left off. Nothing was charged.
